scdetect originid

Hi,

Recently I have installed scdetect and Seiscomp. Everything seems to be compiled correctly. I want to run it in real time mode but I can not understand the template originid in this mode, I need to set this template with which originid?

As a test I have used a originid from a event but I get this error:

Origin smi:org.gfz-potsdam.de/geofon/Origin/20221128181608.059525.12289 not found. Failed to create detector: error while assigning origin: smi:org.gfz-potsdam.de/geofon/Origin/20221128181608.059525.12289. Skipping

Is this a problem in the Seiscomp configuration?

Hi @ivmoma. The originId you are referring to is the one inside the JSON template configuration? That originId is the Seiscomp public ID of the event you intend to use as template within the detector. Then scdetect will look for similar events.

In order to help you., we need to know what command generated this error and what is your configuration.

Just to complement @luca-s's answer. An earthquake will have a unique EventID and an OrginID for each origin, if the event has multiple origins.

An EventID will look like: smi:ch.ethz.sed/sc20a/Event/2022rdtcnm

An OriginID will look like: smi:ch.ethz.sed/sc20ag/Origin/NLL.20220903084749.522376.182366

In the case of scdetect-cc you need the OriginID defined in the template.json file.

Then, there are two options:
offline playback: you should provide a .scml file that contains all the info [Picks, Amplitudes] for the OriginID you define in the template.json file. 👇

For real time, or real time playback: scdetect-cc will look into the SeisComP database and will try to find the originID.

My guess is that in your case either there is a spelling error (it happens all the time!), or the originID is not in the database.
