Beta editor: Applying list formatting deletes leading asterisk

Current behaviour

I am using the beta editor and want to apply list formatting already bold or italic formatted text. Instead of adding list formatting the leading asterisk is deleted and the list formatting is applied after all leading asterisks are deleted . So bold and italic formatting of the paragraph is broken.

It makes not difference if it is a ordered, unordered or todo list. It works fine for strikethrough text.

Expected behaviour

I expect the beta editor to correctly apply the formatting. It works in the default editor.
