Request: Audio toolbox support

ffmpeg has a compile flag --enable-audiotoolbox that allows use of apple's aac encoder through ffmpeg. someone has gotten it to work on windows with the dlls that ship with iTunes. it would be great if the build suite could automatically download itunes, extract the dlls, and compile ffmpeg with audiotoolbox support.

That's multiple levels of MSI extraction I think, possibly feasible but who knows for how long or how hard it would be. Perhaps, if you wanted to do something like that, you could add a config parameter to point to the location of existing DLLs you've grabbed yourself, E.G. from the output of qaac's makeportable and link against those? Or just link with the header files as a shared option and look for the DLLs when ffmpeg is run? There's a GitHub repo containing those DLLs but unsure if the suite wants to go that much out of their way to do something like that. I agree linking against core audio toolbox is a good idea, given we totally support other nonfree encoders, just up to the level of exactly how much do you want to be done automatically and how much do you think should be done manually for legal gray area reasons.

Apple keeps all their downloads up, even for 15 year old versions of itunes so i think the process would be reliable, that repo you're talking about has a github action to extract the dlls

Unless you can point to exactly where inside iTunes64Setup.exe is CoreAudioToolbox.dll, I do not think this is something I can do anything about. I at least cannot find it when opening the msi file inside 7zip.

You can install itunes head to program files and find those dlls. Is it that difficult?

The script doesn't build any registry key or system variables, when you don't need it any more you can delete the folder and your system will be clean

We cannot just "install itunes" on a user's computer just to pull a dll. Additionally, doing an installation and finding dll within a bash script is not easy.

With this build.zip you should be able to compile ffmpeg with audiotoolbox, well at least I can do. Make sure you are running up to date media_autobuild_suite.

As you will see later, i have cloned to home directory, make sure take a note where you cloned it and change it accordingly in further steps.

I have added extra lines in ffmpeg_options.txt and media-suite_compile.sh

search for "create_build_dir static"
below this line you will see what I have added. Also please note I have added $CFLAGS_atb to CFLAGS=,
$LDFLAGS_atb to LDFLAGS+= and do_make "$LD_atb"

I have done this only for static build if you want same shared you have to do same just little above of this static section

Just need a disclaimer if you want aac_at - audiotoolbox, install itunes.
