Yeah so I hoped that if I would add it to the text file mentioned after the prompts, I would finally be able to use libvmaf_cuda, since it was apparently erroneously indicated that using media-autobuild_suite is the only way to get it.

Is this even supported or should I keep dreaming elsewhere?

judging from my primitive glance at ffmpeg surce code you only need to use enable-libvmaf (and there's no such thing as enable-libvmaf_cuda)
cuda support is from libvmaf, you need a libvmaf build that has cuda code enabled.
