DMX not communicating from lighting desk

Is anyone having issues with some lighting desks not being able to send values?

Do you have any more details on the problem?

It works when I use a dmx converter with lighting software on my laptop, but when I plugged it into the end of a dmx chain to use on a production controlled from a lighting desk it didn’t work.
