Crash on closing worker threads on MacOS

Operating System : 10.14.6

Expected behavior

Worker thread should be closed normally

Actual behavior

A crash happens. See:

we got about 43 reports of that crash

This was also the case in 0.44.4

We got about 70 crash reports on it now.
