about the cubes

Each cube board is mounted inside a lens module which contains the board and the battery. This module is then screwed into the main cube body and is theoretically weatherproof. There are two things you can access from the bottom of the cube:

1. a charging port - use a standard 5V plug charger to charge the cube
2. a button - pressing the button once will advance to the next lighting pattern, pressing the button and holding it down will turn the cube off.

The cubes can operate just fine independently, but when you have multiple cubes together, they can be coordinated and controlled by a 'master badge' which is a BM2017 heart badge that has been updated with special code for the cubegarden. The cubes communicate with the master badge via radio.

The cubes are also responsive to paging from existing BM2017 heart badges.
