Directly inputting wav file gives empty output

I'm currently using the rnnoise-demo in /examples for noise reduction in my project. I've observed that if I directly input the wav files, it gives output as an empty audio without any speech. But if I convert the wav to mp3 first and then back into wav, I'm getting the desired output. Anyone here faced the same issue?
